Good company overall, department quality varies

Pros

Noble mission of helping older adults live their best lives. New building with cafeteria and fitness center. Most teams get to use 40 service hours per year. Decent healthcare and vacation package.

Cons

The benefits, salary, and quality of work vary drastically based on department, team, and supervisor. Some people do not get to use their 40 service hours, although it is cited in the benefits package. There is no standard telework policy across the company which creates tension. Some people are severely overworked while others have a great work/life balance. It truly depends on your individual supervisor. Advice to those interviewing is to really clarify what is expected of you and try to feel out the culture of the team before you accept the position. You must be in the position for 1 year before you can switch to another role within AARP.
