Pros

AARP has a fabulous, meaningful mission; it feels good to work there and the pay is excellent. The work / life balance is very, very good if you have children and are content in your career advancement.

Cons

Like many large organizations, things happen very slowly at AARP. When things do happen quickly, it's typically because people don't take the time to think things through - a double edge sword indeed.

Pros

A very worker friendly environment that takes its people and the people it represents into consideration in everything that it does. Offers top notch benefits package and time-off for employees.

Cons

The need to have everyone involved in everything adds too many layers making it difficult to get things done in a timely manner.
