Pros

Fun place to work. Friendly people and good work/life balance. Great benefits. Easy to move around the company (though not necessarily upwards)

Cons

Culture can be difficult to navigate. There has been a lot of changes recently, mostly for the better, but much of senior leadership is still sub-par. The company is unable to make tough decisions. Very siloed and distrustful set of upper management. Operationally it is a mess.

Pros

From my experience I've enjoyed a lot about my internship experience. As an intern I have been placed on a number of projects and assignments especially when I was the only intern in the office. I gained experience in project management, people management and juggling multiple task. Through my managers as AARP have helped me build professional development and networking skills.

Pros

Work up to 25 hours per week as Human Resource Assistant. Talk to people about working for AARP Foundation/SCSEP and sign them up, if approved by San Antonio office. Talk to prospective non-profit host agencies about signing up with AARP Foundation as a potential location to allow our participants to work at there.

Cons

The 'Participants' that sign up with us are not happy with their jobs or salary, which is minimum wage and 18 hours per week. Some are not physically able to perform the job that they are assigned; in that case, I have to look for them another job, within AARP's selection of opportunities.
