Entrepreneurship is rewarded and employees are given significant degrees of freedom to experiment and develop outside of their day-to-day responsibilities

Not what I expected

Pros

The compensation is great and the benefits are second to non. Unlimited vacation is hard to beat.

Cons

Insane workload and very little training. I left my job of 7 years to come to ABB for a remote position and through out the hiring process, it seemed like it was going to be a great move. Upon starting I immediately figured out that this position was not what was sold to me. Working across multiple time zones required me to attend customer meetings from 6:30am to 7,8 and even 9pm. The complicated systems and process resulted in a great deal of unnecessary work. I was really excited about the move and was planning to stay at ABB for a long time. I lasted about 7 months before had to find something different. The attrition was something like I have never seen before; from entry level positions to executives, everyone was leaving.
