      Pros

      I was able to join this company without any prior experience in the printing industry. I'm grateful that ABC was willing to include me in their team of knowledgeable and helpful staff. Since I've been hired, I was able to transition into several roles that have further developed my management/customer service skills.

      Cons

      Waiting for correspondence from other divisions within the company can take a little longer in order to expedite certain things needed for our clients and that can be frustrating. Also, my team is comprised of a small group so it leaves no room for extra help when needed during client visits and especially if a colleague calls out for the day, etc.

      They tend to hire really good people.

      Cons

      And then corporate slowly squashes their spirit. The corporate office micromanages everything to the point that shop management can barely function, and needs approval of every decision. Literally every minute of overtime must be accounted for, explained, and then made up for within that pay period. Most of the printers, tools, and finishing equipment are very outdated and despite regular requests, never get replaced. But corporate still, in all seriousness, expects the shop to produce top quality work. Within the space of two years, the shop was relocated around Seattle twice, losing very valuable clients in the process despite being advised that that would happen. Additionally, regular performance reviews and raises rarely happen.
