      Pros

      I've been working for ABM for a very long time now; is a good steady company but what is going to make the difference is in which account as a contractor you will work for. The culture of the company you are assign will impact in the career opportunities, compensation and work life balance. At least in my case, that'd been the norm.

      Cons

      Here you are a contractor (unless you work for HQ) your job depend of a service contract with a company.

      ABM Brought over people with experience to help them migrate into the Government Contracting business.

      They were not familiar with the rules for ex-pats

      Pros

      Salary is a wee bit above average but cost of med/dent benefits is outrageously high. Not paying for commercial travel for home leave is also a large negative when compared to the norm of other companies doing business in Afghanistan.

      Cons

      Poor corporate support overseas; poor leadership overseas. Most appear with a chip on their shoulder; others are just plan smart alecky in their mannerisms. Quality of shirts and blouses provided is very poor. Too short so the shirtails keep coming out and the polo shirt color and material looks and feels cheap. Shirts and blouses should be from a reputable supplier like LL Bean.
