      Absolutely NO work/life balance! If that doesn't bother you at all, great job for you.

      You work alone, able to do homework or read books etc

      Cons

      For everything that you have to do, compensation is minimal. Prepare to be belittled and threatened for not doing everything they want you to do, when they say and how they say. If a child or yourself falls ill and you need the day off...don't hold your breath on it, get up and get ready for work! And if you do get it off, prepare for snide remarks and audible sighs from the DM because they actually have to get up and do something!

      Pros

      When staffed properly, which is rare, you only work 3 or 4 days a week. Pay. No micro managing.

      Cons

      You THINK it's your day off? Guess again, someone called off, get to work! You thought you needed to go to an appointment, or just enjoy a day off? Guess again! You would think they are paying us as a salary and that they paid our gas and cell phone bills! A bit of distorted thoughts from the DM position. We are not on call. Sick time? Start using it and you will be jobless soon. DM's are the ones on salary, but can you get ahold of one when you need them? Ha.
