Pros

The work itself is rewarding enough knowing you are helping kids. The hours are also very flexible, it is easy to take whatever days you want off (unpaid of course). Some of the BCBAs/supervisors are really nice and will help you out a lot and give you a lot of freedom.

Cons

The HR department is absolutely the worst. I can't stress this enough, absolutely a bureaucratic nightmare and this is what gave me the worst impression of the company. Extremely high turnover rate and low morale among RBTs, everyone I knew there was either looking for a different job or only working temporarily. Additionally the hours can be terrible, for example I worked from 8am-12pm, had a 3 hour lunch break, then worked from 3pm-7pm. Of course I would need to go home during this 3 hour lunch break but this drive time was not compensated because apparently you're expected to stay at the office the entire time? Some of the supervisors are control freaks, and will nitpick every single thing you do. This was not the case for the majority of supervisors though fortunately. The pay is also pretty bad considering the work is extremely draining. Others on here say the pay is good compared to other ABA providers but after I left ACES I got many job offers from other companies, school districts, etc and most paid considerably more. No PTO or benefits. No pay for cancellations or no shows which is ridiculous. If someone is a no show you should be compensated for the entire session! Instead you are only compensated for the 10 minutes you have to wait and are expected to find a different session to cover even though this isn't possible most of the time!

Pros

• Diverse workplace • High reward when seeing clients progress especially with great rapport • Flexible schedules with students (sometimes) • Retrieve RBT which helps with working with children in the spectrum

Cons

• Low pay. Don’t give annual pay raise unless you ask and fight for it (usually $0.5.-$1.00 raise) • Incompetent with keeping pay. New hires get higher pay with no experience/education verses those who’ve worked there for more than a couple of years • SVs gossip about BIs. They talk about BIs a lot in their rooms. A previous coworker quit because they heard the SVs talking about them in the room while they passed by • Very low conflict resolution. Depending on the office, management cannot find a resolution when a situations arises; sometimes results in retaliation • SVs talks about following rules and regulations while attending the office with clients and those SVs cannot follow either (be on phones) • Sometimes not flexible with hours. I’m working on a higher degree and I made sure my qualifications were met and HR decided to say I did not meet regulations and told me to resign. Did not give me an afternoon client when there are multiple clients who needed staffing in that day during that time.

Pros

- flexible - if you like aba, you’ll be happy with the work they do

Cons

- 2 years in and no raise or bonuses !! - not a stable position. lots of cancellations and you don’t get paid when clients cancel. - little to no support from supervisors. - unorganized -feels lonely (you really only see your clients and every once in a while you see your supervisor. So no co-workers, no company holiday parties, etc)
