Pros

You have the opportunity to make an impact in the lives of children; the job is never boring; decent hourly pay rate.

Cons

Unreliable hours; during transitions between cases, the company will leave you stranded without any cases for weeks or months at a time (and therefore no income) even when you contact the scheduler and even HR to be assigned work; sometimes these periods of no work will happen with very little advance notice; in order to get assigned to cases, you have to hound the scheduler/poor communication within the company; you do not get paid when a client cancels, unless the client no-shows, in which case you can bill for 8 minutes of your time waiting at their doorstep (~$2). You can be a substitute on a case, but the behavior of the child you may end up substitute teaching is very unpredictable and therefore can be very stressful since you don't know the kid and vice versa. The kid may be aggressive or very difficult to manage, especially if you are not familiar with them.

Thank you for your broad insight. As with any growing organization in a dynamic industry, we have experienced some growing pains. Please know we are continually reassessing our staff's needs in an attempt to raise the bar in the quality of our systems and support departments. Increased clarity and communication is a shared vision of ours, and we are excited for our current roll out of a HIPAA compliant messaging solution that we hope will allow for even more efficient and effective communication company-wide. We have many support procedures in place, designed to ensure effective and efficient service for the individual needs of our staff. If we can help or clarify any questions/concerns regarding these support procedures, please feel free to email us at acescommunications@acesaba.com.

Pros

NONE! This place is a sweatshop that makes supervisors work 50+ hours a week (120 billable hours per month + 10+ hours per week of non-billable).

Cons

Where do I start? Aces sucks. When I started there, I thought I was making a difference in family's lives with ASD. It turned out that Aces is too caught up in contracts, making money and treating their employees like crap. The clinical directors are never around. You better be a very fast learner, because you pretty much have to learn on the job. Training is horrible and pretty non-existent. Management style sucks where they only talk to you to provide you "reactive feedback" rather than proactively nurturing and training staff. I was told to write up many BIs who weren't properly trained by HR, and then I had to retrain front-line staff. Ridiculous. This place also promotes based on unfair business practices such as hiring on friends and family for HR and Administrative positions.
