Pros

The pay is alright for a job that's pretty straight forward once you get the hang of it.

Cons

I can say so much the main part to look out for is that they take FOREVER between training and actually starting working with clients (everyone I work with has said this) and they DO NOT communicate with you whatsoever. You have to constantly reach out to them and try to figure out what's going on. Even my supervisors were getting frustrated because I wasn't getting started on cases since I was waiting for the stupid RBT certification board to approve me. I wait 3 entire months after my training and come to find it was some type of clerical error on ACES's end that was slowing everything down. Either way if I wasn't living at home at the time I would have been practically homeless. Not to mention since starting the job it has been miscommunication after miscommunication. You would think after being established for over 20 years, you wouldn't mess up so much as to lose all of the new hire paperwork, and not tell someone their work schedule, or why they're not getting enough hours, or you know why they haven't heard from the company that hired them to start working. I have had horrible customer service jobs and I am usually not one to post about my jobs, but I was honestly surprised by the level of unprofessionalism especially as my first post-grad job experience I expected more. But maybe that's just me... and maybe I should have guessed by how quickly I was hired that there's a reason they're so desperate for employees.. just know you've been warned.

Pros

Starting pay was $15. Some cool employees. Some sessions can be super chill. Working with clients can be pretty fun at times. Connecting with students can be rewarding. You can choose your availability.

Cons

Training is pretty short and does not prepare you at all for actual clients. I was told on my first to pretend like I've been doing this for a while. No one ever gets a raise. Your hours will rarely go above 30. You have to drive out 30 minutes to clients homes. Driving to a clients house and having them no show is pretty common. If this does happen you only get paid for 20 minutes even if it takes you an hour to drive there and back. You don't get paid/reimbursed for miles unless its from client to client. There are clicks. Some employees can be too by the book. Employees are constantly quitting and new employees are always being hired. Some clients can be very difficult to work with. You can't use any Aces employees as a reference. They can only confirm that you worked there.

Pros

This company is filled with good people who are passionate about helping children and families.

Cons

Poor systems in place. Employees work above their positions at all levels and are undercompensated/appreciated for their dedication.
