Pros

Good pay and benefits. Friendly staff members, great clients and families. Usually afternoon and evening shifts are available. Shifts can range from 3-5 hours, sometimes more or less on more rare occasions. Mornings are possible.

Cons

It’s really weird the way ABA therapy treats children with Autism. They view the child based on behaviors, and ABA therapy uses operant conditioning to either reinforce or punish these behaviors. ABA therapy claims to be the best treatment for Autism, but Autism is a live long developmental disorder. There is no cure or treatment. In my opinion, ABA therapy should consider social emotional development and wellbeing of their clients, however because they are funded by the insurance, their curriculum is limited to the restrictions set by said insurance company.

Pros

-career growth -supportive colleagues -clients -mission of company I will say that while no company is perfect, the people I work alongside make it a place I love being. I have been with the company many years and started as a bi. I fell in love with the mission and aba. I have held many roles here: bi, supervisor, BCBA, manager, and I just joined a newly formed department in a role that fits me perfectly. I recommend joining our team if you love working with children and improving the quality of their lives using ABA strategies. There is ample room for career growth.

Cons

-pay tends to be lower than elsewhere but not by much.

Pros

Very supportive supervisors at my location. If I have questions, I feel comfortable reaching out to my SVs. Pay is competitive with other companies. Clients are amazing, as they will be at any location.

Cons

Hours are inconsistent, and not necessarily guaranteed. I was hired with the promise of a full time position, and thus benefits…but I don’t get benefits because of my part time status. Training was ALL online, and I don’t always feel confident that I’m providing quality care because of my lack of hands-on/in person training or shadowing. It’s overall a good company, but needs to invest more in RBT training and clinical hours.
