Pros

Info is available and most people are quite willing to help new hires. Everyone is friendly enough and forthcoming with info. Haven't run into office politics yet.

Cons

The onslaught of items to be completed leaves a bad taste, and i see some bureaucracy in play which will hinder processes.

Pros

Great people who actually do the work.

Cons

Staff who actually do the work are under appreciated. Sr. Management ineffective in properly motivating staff. Fear based. Far to many layoffs. For a global company there are very averse to remote support.

Pros

The Austin ACI office has genuinely friendly people, a casual work environment, a wide range of technologies, and an incredible number of opportunities for self starters. Plus free breakfast tacos on friday mornings!

Cons

Unfortunately the S1 Austin office was already going downhill prior to the acquisition by ACI. The focus was on a poor work-life balance, unmanageable workload, toxic work environment with no support - or outright sabotage by a now-fired department head, and 15+ year old legacy software that was never updated. After the acquisition, the entire product base and office was left in limbo, with no direction being provided by management and the environment further dropping the already low morale and explaining constant exodus of employees. Attempts to play musical chairs with the seating arrangement, organizational structure, and product lifecycle du jour were all meaningless 'solutions' that avoided the real problems. If there were aggressive changes by management to provide discrete direction, this could be a very fun place to work, but I don't see that happening.
