Pros

The pay was decent. The hours were ok for the most part. Benefits were fair but fairly expensive.

Cons

Management was awful as well as people in HR. I was bullied by a coworker who was supposed to be training me but she didn't want to be bothered with me. I went to HR and they sided with her and my manager told me I needed medication!

Pros

I loved working at ADESA Houston. I had a blast every day and loved going into work every morning. On a local level you can bet very well taken care of and if you dedicate yourself, you can go far. The local employees work well together and learn from each other. Customers are usually great to be around and the fast pace of a weekly sale can keep you moving. Benefits are good for you and your family and the 401k match is a great addition as well.

Cons

Corporate has no idea what happens at the local level but is happy to step in when they feel they know better. Weekly sales no matter what! you will have to make it happen no excuses. Some customers will test you and it will be part of their personality, need to have people skills. Not always fair as to how things work, I was an IT and Sales Manager at the same time and while I didn't mind, I feel that most wouldn't be willing to do so as freely. Sometimes you get too many hands in on something at one time and it may be better to let things go to the wayside. Depending on what location (several throughout America) your pay may be a bit short, you may also be absorbing positions you don't sign up for, with no formal structure as to what position does what you may have 2 or 3 jobs.

Pros

Great people - friendly, helpful, and fun atmosphere. Good community outreach and support for employee volunteerism - 1 paid day per year to serve in the community (each employee chooses their activity and place to serve). Company provides regular "fun" activities - pitch-ins, giveaways, contests, cornhole tournament, ugly sweater contest, Halloween costume contest and trick or treating for kids, etc. Nice pay and benefits...probably just a smidge above average. Smidge. Excellent work/life balance with remote work option as needed, no weekends, few late nights. (Speaking for my position anyway, which is salaried. They don't abuse salaried folks. If you work yourself to death, that's by your choice not by their force.) Great location in the northern suburbs.

Cons

No annual bonus! First company I've worked for in my professional career (18 yrs!) that does not have an annual bonus program. My salary is good, as noted above...but it was good at the other companies I've worked for too, and they offered bonus.
