Pros

Weekly pay and advances in case you need money promptly Great to actually HELP people who really really need your advice and services .. Then get paid for it!

Cons

Depending on your location and office management you may be a glorified lead generator. When I worked there in 2012-2014 you were/are judged unfortunately, not on you closing ratio, the people you helped, nope.. It's how many cold calls and door knocks you can sell. No fun. Installers are given priority sales people are seen as replaceable 2nd class citizens

Pros

QuickStart Training is no longer just Model Sales Call. You will get a decent amount of product training. Other than QuickStart, you will not receive much formal training or guidance from your manager. You will, however, receive plenty of material. Its up to you to coach yourself. If you are the type that CAN self teach and have a thick skin for for fumbling the ball in the early going, you'll do fine. DOn't be disappointed with your early sales results. You have to learn the product and you have to be a fish in water when it comes to communicating with people. ADT provides an excellent product. But you have to overcome costumer objections to the fact that it isn't by any stretch the CHEAPEST product. Know what your selling and how it fits into the customers security needs and be prepared to invest...mmmm...about 50 hours a week in activity. It is very hard work with days that will keep you out from sunrise to sunset. But the potential for personal wealth growth is tremendous! You can have no more than a HS education and be making close to a 6 digit salary if you master your craft. For myself, coming out of the non profit sector a year ago where I was expected to complete 60 hours worth of work in a 40 hour schedule for less than 40K a year, this has been an incredible ride. And you get a supplemental training bonus for your first few months while you get up to speed.

Cons

-Even with a training bonus, you might want to get a weekend job as well if you have a family to feed until you get up to speed. -Have to be a bit of a self learner. Managers don't have a lot of time to formally train. - Products can be very pricey, turning some potential customers off (especially CCTV). -Health Benefits are complicated to understand and pricey.

Pros

Complete control of how you want to run your day Like all commission only jobs you get out what you put in .

Cons

Company leads and appointments given that are suppose to be split upon a team based on your geological location. This is not the case and leads and company appointments are often not split evenly amongst a team. Technical support is sometimes sparse. They way the Comp plan (which changes every year) is set up, larger check will likely come towards the end of the month
