Pros

Zero, nothing, degrading, dishonest, no help from upper management.

Cons

This company is listed as one of the top ten WORST companies to work for and I found that to be TRUE. They treat people horribly, they are UNFAIR, and play favorites based on who they play with after hours. I worked in the WESTWOOD headquarters. My Managers were so rude and so unfair. I MADE NO Money after the initial pay.

Pros

I really can't write anything positive about this company. I would recommend reading my review and take it to heart. I tried to keep opinions out and facts in.

Cons

You are a commissioned only employee treated like a salaried employee. If you are commission only, trust me, you will do everything you can to earn your paycheck, however you will be tasked with excessive reports, conference calls, weekly meetings, call nights, micromanaged, and as a result, your selling time is diminished. There is only enough time in the day to do everything they ask of you if you don't want to sleep or have any sort of life outside of work. They are quick to pay you, but even quicker to reverse your commission if your job did not go as planned. Ask a question to 5 different leadership people, and you will get 5 different answers. Everyone does their own thing and does not communicate clearly. Benefits are sub par for the largest security company in the industry. Car allowance and mileage will not come close to covering the amount of wear and tear you put on your vehicle. Allowance was around $150/month. And mileage was $0.10-$0.15. Feds pay $0.55. The sales training program is built on a canned sales pitch and you spend a week listening to a former sales manager tell stories vs teach you to learn about the products and price systems. That's where your knowledge needs to be if you want to be successful. ADT has and does punish entire departments by cutting off leads. If you are on a team that is performing and some team members are not, it doesn't matter. They penalize the team not the individual. This is a terrible business practice and I've never met a company before that basically reaches in to their employees pockets. Cold calling is a huge part of this business for the first 2-4 years. Door knocking, phone calls, networking, referrals, trade shows, etc. Summary: I can see why this company is successful. They hire promising high dollar incomes. This can be done if you want to work 70 hour weeks. However, the hoops you will jump thru, and the inconsistencies within the company will force you out, only for ADT to reap the benefits of any sales you have made. I have been in the sales industry for 20yrs, and I would advise you to stay far far away from this company.
