All about how much you can sell and their products are EXPENSIVE
Pros
-Decent PTO and sick time -Decent work/life balance -The doctor I worked with was awesome
Cons
-Manager/PM was a micro managing OCD nightmare -The company is ALL about how many pairs of glasses you sold and how much the average tick was. -Require you to document why people didn't purchase -Pay wasn't great for a licensed optician -Their operating system is so inefficient. It takes so long to check insurance and create orders vs other systems I've used -Their knock off brand lenses and coatings are OBSCENELY over priced. When AEG bought the private practice the lens prices more than doubled. Try explaining that to established patients! The other day I sold an $900 pair of glasses to an 11yr old. Single vision, hi index, AR, transitions and a nike frame. Then I had to ask if they wanted to PAY for a warranty ONTOP of that. What company is okay with charging that much for children's glasses?!? It made me feel terrible and morally wrong. -They added so many time wasting tasks that were unnecessary. We felt stretched so thin. -There is a bonus/spiff structure. If you sell a $1,300 pair of glasses you might get $10 from it. -I don't recommend working for AEG -They use ABB lab and the quality was terrible. What they charge for their products the glasses should be immaculate EVERY SINGLE TIME. I spent a lot of time doing lab error redos (another painfully long process since you can't just pick up the phone and call the lab with this company) -No growth potential
