Pros

From starting at the firm as an intern to now over a year in as a full-time analyst, I've gotten to know AGC very well and am grateful for how much they focus on the improvement of the team. From trainings every week where you get the chance to learn about a variety topics, to new projects that span lots of different industries, there will always be something to push you to continue learning. It's also great being surrounded by so many like minded and intelligent coworkers that you can always learn something from and, at the end of the day, we all get along and enjoy our free time whether this is outside of work or at one of the outings that the firm sets up for us. I've learned a lot so far and I'm looking forward to continuing to learn and develop as a banker at AGC

Cons

As typical within the industry, you will face the longer nights and expected to work on weekends as necessary, but one of the key things that I believe really sets the experience at AGC apart from the rest is that you can always rely on the rest of the deal team to offer support and get to work which makes the time more manageable

Pros

At AGC Partners, growth is not limited to the banking team. Conferences are not just for top executives. AGC is a platform for everyone climbing the ladder. The focus on development opportunities ensures that every team member has a chance to excel. The open-door policy is not just rhetoric. It is a reality. The inclusive environment encourages open communication, making every team member feel heard and valued. AGC does not just talk about corporate social responsibility. It is embodied day-to-day. The commitment to community service events showcases a dedication to giving back and creating a workplace that values making a positive impact. AGC goes above and beyond professional development. Management recognizes the importance of family. AGC Kids Day and family-oriented events demonstrate a commitment to a holistic approach to employee well-being. Being at the center of the operations, I see all the ins and outs. AGC is more than a workplace. It is a community that nurtures professional and personal growth. I feel privileged to be part of a company that values its employees on every level.

Cons

I do not have any drawbacks to discuss about AGC Partners.

Pros

AGC offers an incredible learning opportunity for those who are willing to work hard, be a sponge, and have a desire to contribute to lean, high-powered teams. Analysts are granted a lot of responsibility throughout the program, beginning from their first live project, allowing them to ramp up efficiently and quickly become valuable, contributing members of the team. Consistently strong deal flow ensures that analysts are getting exposure to every aspect of the M&A process from the moment they begin at AGC. As an analyst at AGC, you can expect to work directly with tech CEOs, founders, and management teams on a near-daily basis, which is an incredible differentiator within IB. In addition to the experience and learning opportunity, the firm has a very tight-knit culture and collegial environment. Unlike many firms, especially bigger ones, AGC does a great job fostering collaboration and teamwork amongst the junior team, and this is apparent as soon as you begin. Long days and nights are more bearable when the junior team feels like they are all in the same boat. The Associates and VPs are always willing to go out of their way to help out the analysts. Outside of the office, AGC facilitates frequent outings for both the entire firm and just the junior teams. These are great to get to know your colleagues more personally, as well as connect with those out-of-state (and out-of-country).

Cons

As with most investment banks, AGC expects hard work and long hours. This can be difficult to handle in the first few months on the job, especially if a new analyst is overloaded with numerous projects. With the amount of responsibility given to the analysts on most projects, this can sometimes be overwhelming and unnecessarily stressful. I think the management team could be more cognizant of analyst workloads and distribution of staffing, particularly in the first ~9 months or so when analysts are still ramping up.
