Pros

I thoroughly enjoyed my internship at AGC Partners, finding it to be an incredibly rewarding experience for which I am genuinely grateful. From the outset, I was eager to gain hands-on experience in investment banking, specifically focusing on the tech sector. Over the course of the 8-week internship, I significantly enhanced my understanding of tech investment banking. My responsibilities as an intern encompassed a diverse range of tasks, including training assignments, active involvement in live deal work, and the creation of a research whitepaper. The training sessions, led by enthusiastic analysts and associates, played a crucial role in deepening my investment banking knowledge. AGC's management consistently collaborated with me to ensure a well-balanced workload, offering a supportive environment that encouraged learning. What stands out to me about AGC is the exceptional team. The entire staff is not only highly intelligent but also deeply passionate about their work. There is a tangible sense of camaraderie within the tight-knit team, fostering a collaborative and engaging work atmosphere. Additionally, each intern is paired with a mentor, typically an analyst, providing valuable guidance and support throughout the internship. Furthermore, AGC's commitment to fostering a positive work culture is evident in the frequent opportunities for socializing at company outings. These occasions allowed for meaningful interactions beyond work, contributing to the overall positive and inclusive work environment at AGC Partners.

Cons

As expected in the industry, hours can be long and may fluctuate based on deal activity. However, late nights are invaluable in bringing the team closer together. I look back at the late night grinds as some of my fondest memories. I should also add that AGC facilitates a very healthy environment and encourages the team to work out at the in-office gym during down time.

Pros

While looking for investment banking internships, AGC’s software-centric focus immediately caught my attention — an industry that captivates me for its innovative nature, substantial growth prospects, and the diverse range of verticals it encompasses. Over the course of my eight-week internship at AGC, I can confidently affirm that I have gained a significantly deeper understanding of how software investment banking works. AGC's comprehensive intern training program – spanning weekly classroom sessions, live deal work, and a final research whitepaper – equipped me with the knowledge and skills needed. This preparation enabled me to effectively talk about the deals I was on and actively engage in client calls by the end of the summer. This invaluable training experience owes much to the dedicated and supportive individuals who make up the AGC team. Each intern is paired with an Analyst for deal work and a Partner for a final research project analyzing a specific software vertical. The research project, in particular, offers a fantastic opportunity to publish work alongside seasoned Partners possessing years of sector expertise. The Analysts and Partners I collaborated with served as exceptional mentors, recognizing my learning curve while encouraging me to seize new opportunities. The time spent with experienced professionals is pivotal to learning, and I am convinced that AGC provides outstanding mentorship. The AGC team is not only motivated but also enjoyable to work with, as evidenced by the camaraderie fostered during our weekly outings. I am grateful for the enriching experience I had at AGC and firmly believe it is a company that offers a rewarding environment for continuous learning and growth within.

Cons

I've enjoyed my experience; there haven't been any cons for me.

Pros

When considering internships in investment banking, I found AGC particularly appealing due to its size and focus on technology. I wanted to work at a firm that could offer me hands-on experience, and was drawn to the array of sectors covered by AGC. Throughout my eight-week internship at AGC, I can affirm that I gained a significantly deeper comprehension of the workings of software investment banking. Their internship program, spanning from classroom sessions to hands-on involvement in live deals and research tasks, equipped me to a level where I could adeptly discuss the projects to which I contributed and actively engage in client discussions by the end of the summer. AGC has a team-oriented culture. The firm consists of motivated, knowledgable individuals that supported me throughout the internship. This support was evident at all levels. Each intern is paired with a Partner for a research project, and an analyst as their mentor for the summer. Both were friendly and integral to my development over the summer. Altogether, the internship was a great experience.

Cons

As is the standard in investment banking, the job can be demanding of long hours. That being said, one is afforded the opportunity to learn a lot and gain valuable experience in the process. AGC is a great place for anyone that is interested in investment banking.
