Pros

The Mission is the best "HIV AIDS care without regard for ability to pay." Everyday is a opportunity to positively impact patient's lives

Cons

Where things used be be able to be written off: not any more. Where employees were empowered to provide care, now it's all about the metrics (volume of the work), with no measurement (or apparent concern) for the quality of the work. Pharmacy pay structure is "nationalized" so a Pharmacy Technician is paid the same regardless of residence in Fort Worth TX, Jacksonville FL, Washington DC, or San Francisco CA. What might be a livable income in East Los Angeles is NOT livable in other markets. Comments from HR on this site keep saying it's competitive - but the do NOT take into account the cost of living in the various markets. Pharmacy Tech living in 1 room studio apt: spending 3/4 of net income on housing: shameful.

Pros

Reasonable salary. Training. Good benefits and health plan. Good commissions plus bonuses. Opportunity to grow in the organization. Excellent if you like to work as a team. No micromanagement, always and when you get the numbers required monthly. Excellent for social workers and medical field experienced people or rookies. Flexible schedules.

Cons

Work sometimes in extreme weather conditions. No social life at all, although you will work into that scenes. Not much time for studies. If you are in college this work wouldn't fit for you.
