Pros

The two founders are approachable, friendly, and still highly involved in the day-to-day operations, which is rare for a company this size. The people here are great and very committed to help students succeed. The work can be demanding balancing the interests of both parents and students, but there is plenty of support from management. Paid social outreach opportunities Respectful environment

Cons

The work is somewhat seasonal as it revolves around the ebbs and follows of the school year and SAT testing cycle, but AJ Tutoring does what it can to smooth out your schedule by offering summer cross training to help you start teaching additional subjects and get summer training hours and they offer experienced tutors the opportunity to participate in committees or to work on projects like material development.

Pros

-Hours that work for me (I love missing traffic and sleeping in) -Upward mobility (Nowhere else that I have worked can a person earn themselves a spot on the leadership team in a year) -Solid pay (makes living in the Bay Area possible, even relatively comfortable -Great community (tutors and management are just plain old good people who are always willing to help) -Plenty of support (exceptional training and team leaders who are always an email/call/meeting away) -Opportunities to provide feedback on ways the company can improve -Working with kids is a passion, but AJ makes it an economically feasible passion -Working one-on-one with students is far more enjoyable and impactful than managing a class full of kids -Full-time, long-term employment

Cons

-The hours are not for everyone (evenings and one weekend day)
