Pros

The company is pretty good at identifying talent and moving them up the "corporate ladder", however the fashion in which they do it can be somewhat unsettling sometimes. While it may be just following protocol, you really have no idea what is going on when an opportunity opens. That said, depending on your department, the salary can be excellent or the salary can be under par. In general I think they are competitive especially for their market, but nowhere near over the top. The offices are professional and very well maintained and is overall a great place to work from the people you work with to the building they are headquartered.

Cons

One of the biggest downsides that was faced while I worked at AMC was the lack of communication. Departments made decisions that affected other departments on a regular basis without informing or involving them in the discussion. But when the decision was made, that was it. Also a personal distaste is bringing something valuable to the table does not mean it will be taken advantage of. While it may be managers dealing with those above them, whatever the cause, it is a loss to AMC as a company due to politics.

Pros

First off, the environment is great, the people are nice, the managers are nice, everyone is friendly, everyone helps when their help is needed. The work load is fairly easy, time goes by quick when ushering. Discounts on food, pretty much everything half off, free drinks, and popcorn, free movies, literally whenever you want as long as it doesn't sell it and isn't conflicting with your schedule, free movies for friends and family as well. After 30 days you get a stubs card which is crucial in my opinion. Everyone is very descriptive, and it doesn't take long to catch on with the rest of the film crew. Promotions come in handy but guest services promotions don't really change how much you make. the pay is 7.25 and hour but you get great hours so it balances out well. Everything is great, and it's only my first 2 weeks. I love it already, nothing will change, it gets better everyday.

Cons

AMC is apart of the union.

Pros

- Free Movies - Some of your co-workers will become some of your best friends - Employee Screenings - Flexible Schedule

Cons

- Managers consistently waltz around looking for excuses to hand out Disciplinary Warnings for the most menial issues - Rampant Favoritism - VERY high turnover rate. Associates were terminated for atrocious reasons such as not cleaning fast enough despite being understaffed, not selling enough AMC stubs (which is a lame program in itself), and opening your mouth to contradict the power hungry managers. - Low employee morale. It doesn't make anyone happy knowing that your work buddies are constantly rotating with new people - Good work is never recognized, only mistakes are pointed out by management
