Pros

Working there gives you a lot of experience in customer service and sales. They can be flexible with your schedule. You have the oppurtunity to work with some fun people and make friends. The free movies, employee discount, and employee stubs membership is a plus.

Cons

-Lack of communication from management. I've been written up for something that I never even knew was a rule, turned out half the staff never even knew about it and I refused to sign it because I was never informed previously. -Pushing for us to sell the Stubs membership is being taken overboard. Not only can you be fired for not selling stubs, the management sent out a message stating that the amount of employees hours per week will be earned from their stub sales. So basically sell Stubs like crazy or you get no hours. Well thats difficult since the market is saturated! Not to mention the management breathes down your neck everytime your on a register to sell memberships. - Lack of respect from management towards employees. Some will treat you like your a dime a dozen. -If you have little job experience I highly recommend looking for a easy retail job that will save you the stress.

Pros

AMC as a company is actually pretty good. The work generally proves to be fun, as far as a part-time job goes, and the people at my local branch are what makes the job worthwhile. The only big benefit to speak of is free movie tickets, which is fine by me.

Cons

The pay. $7.25 an hour, with a $0.20 commission on selling an AMC Stubs card is not acceptable. As it is, we're now having quotas pushed on us to sell the Stubs cards, lest we be fired. It's understandable that you have a new product that's to be the focus of the company, and now you need to change over staff in order to meet these goals. But, at the very least, pay us a more respectable rate. Even $8/hour would be better -- it'd be more in line with other retail stores, albeit on the low end.

Pros

Exposure to the movie industry from a theatre prospective. Working with a lot of different people and personalities. The enjoyment of being apart of the guests expirence when they come to see they'er favorite movies. Free movies

Cons

To many politics when it comes to promotions. Instead of being promoted through hard work it's more about who likes you. The company is really behind the new "Stubs" program. The atmosphere that has been create concerning not meeting goals for the program is not good. Job security is very poor along with employee moral. Very poor benifits
