Pros

Nice access to equipment and tools. Great business to be in. Fun and cool environment.

Cons

AMC is known to pay less than comparable companies in the area. This, from my experience, is common across departments.

A lot asked, not a lot given

Pros

Steady pay, minimum wage. Free movies. The grunts were cool, and the lower level managers seemed to care somewhat.

Cons

There was some questionable activity, like if closing took more than 30 minutes, they would clock you out automatically 30 minutes in, which I'm pretty sure is illegal. There's a lot of really questionable rules. Like cancelling an order (as a cashier) too many times is a write-up. Or we were supposed to clean theaters from the bottom and top, and meet in the middle, which doesn't really work when there's only one of you cleaning.

Pros

-you meet really amazing people -free movies -you have a lot of fun during shifts -great seasonal job -easy work on slow days

Cons

-sometimes physically exhausting -management is on some sort of high horse -training is not enough (and I was the trainer) -management hardly helps out -corporate does NOT care about employees -pay is minimum wage but they expect higher quality work -weekends and premieres are EXTREMELY BUSY -you WILL work most holidays, typically you are allowed 1 off so don’t think you’ll get out of it especially when you’re new. -I have never dealt with such rude customers in any other retail/food service/customer service job before. They are next level. -you will hardly ever get promoted in house and promotions are based on favoritism not work ethic. -management gets holiday pay but supervisors and crew do not
