Good Place to Work

Pros

Obviously there is the biggest perk of free movies all the time, and discounted concession items when you are working. They are very flexible with your schedule if you have other jobs. At my location it is like one big family, we all look out for each other and have a blast working together, but I know it is not like that at other locations.

Cons

There are days where guests are just rude, so you have to deal with that and put on a smile anyways. Sometimes when management comes down on you about selling Stubs cards it sucks cause you feel like you are shoving it down the guests throat. They don't give out pay raises very often, I have been there a few years and only had 2.

Supervisor

Pros

Free movies, free fountain and ICEE drinks and popcorn while working, discounts on some food items while working.

Cons

No guaranteed break, no vacation or sick time, no holiday pay, no pay differential whether you open at 7 a.m. or stay until 4 a.m., no time and a half on Sundays. The lack of benefits were explained because it is the "entertainment industry." Turn around shifts are common. Movie passes for supervisors were reduced. It used to be family members and one friend were allowed per visit, but was changed to employee plus two passes for supervisors.

Depends on your priorities

Pros

- Free movie tickets, popcorn, and drinks - Weekly scheduling - Co-workers

Cons

- Management was a travesty. There was favoritism and a strong disconnect with the needs of employees - Employees were encouraged to sell loyalty memberships that cost more than their hourly wage and given very half-hearted rewards for selling a lot - Minimum wage - You were wedged between management and the guests neither of which were likely to take your side - All employees were paid the same including kitchen staff that were given a weekly task that often took hours to complete - Once the Affordable Healthcare Act was passed, overtime and full-time was taken away to avoid giving employees benefits - If you get sick, don't expect them to care about anything except your reason for why you couldn't show up to work - To get promoted you must be a favorite and your pay grade will not go up by much. Expect to continue to work crazy hours.
