Pros

People at the bottom are nice to work with. Good healthcare plan.

Cons

Every BU is different, however, they all have their hierarchy of problems. There are a lot of managers who micromanage beyond belief, no room to pitch in ideas or contribute anything. Daily calls, just to show who is boss and micromanage daily tasks. Salary is not competitive, no bonus, and no incentives. Just saying the company didn't do well this year is how they continue year after year, but managers and VP's etc, they all make their bonuses. But again those managers, just take orders from the BU managers, which yell at their subordinates in the hallways, treat them badly, and then when their decisions go awry because they don't know what they are doing, they then just try to point the finger at someone, to be their sacrificial lamb. So in essence they never look bad, since they know someone by the CEO's side, which always bails them out. They can bring business units to the ground, but it's the employee's fault instead of the person in charge of that BU unit. Insane.. HR is not there for you, they are there to keep them from being sued. HR does not keep things confidential, everyone knows everything. (again not all BU's are the same) There isn't any transparency on the goals of the department or company. So if you are planning on applying for any of their BU's, ask questions, ask carefully asked questions, to address these things, such as daily tasks, how many people in the department, etc, etc, etc. Because the less the number of people, the more work you will likely have to do, without extra pay or extra consideration. (they do not reward extra effort, the highest they do, is a breakfast and then rub t in your face that they paid it out of pocket)

Pros

Very few. The benefits are okay.

Cons

Company requires ridiculous overtime. Production was required to work the Saturday and Sunday after Thanksgiving. Who DOES that?!!! Also, just told TODAY, that the Sunday after Christmas AND the following Monday (which was a scheduled holiday are now required to be worked. In my job, I have averaged 50-55 hours a week for the last 4 months. Not a good place to work. Management is interested in the bottom dollar - not employees.

Pros

All Business units are allowed to operate how they feel works best for their manufacturing goals . It allows them to continue to excel and expand with their upper managements vision. Within the guidelines of corporate oversight.

Cons

As a lower level laborer or middle management you are not going to advance in this company, you will be given impossible goals and be expected to work with very little support from the management, who are kept in check by constant micromanagement on budgets and profit. Employees are all given their merit increases baed not on their accomplishments and contributions, the company seems to focus only on the employees shortcomings and uses that to make the employee feel unappreciated and less than productive, thus removing the employees morale and they feel insecure in their job. but this allows the corporation to keep the BU from paying more or allowing advancement and promotions.
