Too much volunteerism and employee donations requested

Pros

Great leadership. Executives are readily available and have quarterly conference and recognition events which they attend and seem to really take an interest in the success of employees.

Cons

Often try to shove their "culture" down your throat. Excessive requests to donate to their preferred charities. Distracting office events (ex: chair racing, filming videos for events) then with the guise of a contest for college hoops brackets or super bowl squares, they take and give half the money to their preferred charity and only give half back to employees, but take the tax break themselves without offering you the employee a receipt for your charitable donations. During events people yelling and screaming in middle of office making concentration or phone calls impossible.

Thank you for taking time to share your feedback. I am disappointed to read that you feel we are pushing volunteering and corporate culture in a negative manner. AMLI was built on the foundation that “giving back to the communities in which we live and work” is a core value. In each of our AMLI cites we have selected charities and organizations that we support both financially and with volunteerism. That being said, all activities and donations are voluntary and no one should feel obligated. Since you are in the Chicago Corporate office, please feel free to share your concerns/comments with me and/or anyone in senior management. Thank you again for taking time to share your thoughts. Thank you for taking time to share your comments, both positive and constructive. AMLI has developed policies and procedures that support our efforts to handle situations consistently and within legal compliance, in the cities in which we operate. We pay overtime as required by federal and individual state laws, but do our best to manage employees’ working time so that employees don’t work past 40 hours per week. Please contact Payroll or HR department if you believe you are owed any monies. AMLI financially rewards successful mystery shops. If an employee has scored below expectations on a shop, s/he earns less of bonus until s/he meets expectations. If there have been three consecutive shops not meeting expectations, the person shares in the cost of being re-shopped, but no one is docked pay. Our spring tours are great way for us to be prepared for the selling season, to ensure asset appearance and product readiness. Our tours in the summer/fall visits are capitol tours to prepare for the following year’s budget. These visits are critical to the success of our operations. Thank you again for your feedback. Pros

The upper management really cares about everyone, all the way down to the employees located at the communities. The competition is a good thing, your coworkers and peers all thrive off of it. The upper management does an excellent job of acknowledging all of your hard work!

Cons

The company is newer is the Los Angeles market, so a lot of prospective residents have never heard of the company.
