Pros

This is a good company. The people in Upper Management positions are, for the most part, very sensible individuals. Pay is decent, not above or below market. Though there are grievances to be had let me be clear in saying that this is a good company who cares about its employees.

Cons

Matrix Management. If you like having several people to answer to who may not all want the same things from you and may not even have the same goals for your property, this is the company for you. I personally find it very difficult to operate in an environment where goals are unclear, leadership is not well defined, responsibility is laid directly on your shoulders but the ability to act is given to several different departments. It is the only company that I know of that will trust an individual with the management of a $50m property but it requires a written approval from the Senior Vice President to waive a $10 late fee.

AMLI is a solid company. They pay is good, the company is stable, and employees are treated very well. They really do care about the people, which is refreshing! The CEO is awesome.

Cons

It's a very conservative and very corporate company, and that may not work well for some.

Pros

Reliable income is the competitive advantage and being that it is a rapidly growing company....... there is plenty of room for growth from within which is strongly encouraged/supported by management from all levels. The company culture seems to fit well with most employees, however unusual it may seem to others, but it is the intention that deserves appreciation.

Cons

I am not quite certain what my purpose was intended to be as an employee for the company, a member of a social club or expected to proceed performing the duties i was actually hired to accomplish which are to be completed by stringent deadlines....... so resulting, more often than not, one interferes with the other. Another unfortunate situation within the company structure is that there are too many chiefs and not enough Indians resulting in a continuous micro managing loop leaving too few employees on a continuously running-marathon- treadmill. Also.....bonus incentives often interfere with ones ability to make practical decisions, taking into consideration that the incentive often becomes the "decision makers" primary objective rather than maintaining a well oiled machine, but bonuses are appreciated none the less.
