Pros

Benefits are okay. Pay is decent for California.

Cons

The environment here is hostile. No one is happy in their role, and they only work because the pay is decent for San Diego. Unfortunately a lot of people have been leaving our company due to their unhappiness. They overwork people and the department is understaffed. They tell us to “figure it out” when it’s not our role and we don’t have the paper. Questions in town halls never get answered, they say they will follow up but don’t. Leadership is terrible. we work in an operations department and they care more about metrics than the quality of the nurses. All of us say we would hate going to a hospital and be treated by a travel nurse. If they focused more on quality, giving us more support, and the bonuses were better people would like coming to work. Other than that, more half of the people on the floor are unhappy. Talked to half of my nurses friends and they said they will never travel with AMN because of their reputation. It’s unfortunate it has gotten to this point but I don’t see things changing until they actually look at the real problem.
