Decent place to learn but plan your exit strategy

Pros

- Excellent place to advance, learn new skills. One of the best places I've ever worked where you can transition into a new role. Plenty of opportunity to fast track your career. - Good coworkers. Friendly and helpful. - Decent team building events. - You can coast if you want (whether this is a pro or con depends on your goals and perspective, see below)

Cons

-Management. Lack of respect for rank and file. You are not valued. Evidenced by the double talk and untruths spewed by management. Egregious treatment when right sizing occurs. For example another team was called in ostensibly for a team building meeting. Their immediate supervisor leaves and HR comes in and axes them. Right sizing happens, we get that. But be straight up and direct with people. It garners respect. - In most areas pay is below market value. When I was there, amount employees had to pay for benefits increased significantly each year. - Inordinate amount of employees who are coasting. (% depends on dept) If you are an A player this wears thin quickly. You are either asked to do more to make up the slack or you become frustrated that slackers are allowed to stay or even fail up. Worse yet rehiring lazy workers with nothing to contribute will drive talented team members insane.

Pros

large company that can offer housing and benefits in most, but not all, cases.

Cons

they will pull your benefits if you get sick/injured and charge back to you plus a penalty. they cover your housing for days you are not scheduled to work but if something happens and you are late or miss a shift even for reasons outside your control (car accident) don't only expect to not get paid (which is reasonable) but to be penalized by having your pay deducted for stipends and benefits at a steep rate. They don't always have their contract nailed down and I was left stranded after the client changed start dates. Contract means nothing on the employer side. Also there is no support when you are on the job.

Pros

The coffee cart and the free food which are just tricks to make you work overtime

Cons

I would give this cesspool zero starts if that was the option. First off-they will hire ANYONE. They aren't honest about how the "promotions" work and if you don't meet your numbers by Friday expect come Monday to be in an office where your manager let's you know how bad you're doing because of a cancellation that you can't control. They underpay and overwork you to the point of desperation. $16.35 an hour and low commission that kicks in a year later. The managers are high school bullies who bribe you with food, alcohol, and gift cards to stay working there. "Management" there are a bunch of reject Jenny Craig employers or Nordstrom managers who don't want to work weekends or holidays. Good luck getting sick and texting your boss because she will tell you to go to a minute clinic and come in at noon-heaven forbid you need a day off. They keep hiring 40 people every 6 weeks so you're competing internally creating a hostile work environment. I recommend being a used car salesman before this place.
