Pros

They have snacks I guess you sometimes have nice moments where you get to help people but that wears off really fast when you realize you can't even help yourself financially or mentally. The burn out is real and this job is unsustainable, I feel that I'm failing in life, I thought being a paramedic meant something, I doesn't.

Cons

They don't care about you, your just a body that fills the seat, they pay you less than a job in fast food or retail work with x8 the responsibility. I hope you hate sleeping, cause your on for 24 hours which means you're working for 24 hours with 0 sleep. This has to be a joke? Sadly it's not.

Pros

You get paid on time (but not always the right amount) Free uniforms TONS of overtime Free snacks (at the hospital EMS rooms) Annual pizza parties (day shift only) Okay, maybe those aren't pros...THERE ARE NONE

Cons

Forced overtime High turnover Perpetually low staffing Lack of experienced employees, most are brand new EMTs Low wages, just a buck or two more than minimum wage Cutthroat management that will prioritize profits over patient care and employees Stuck in a rig 12-24 hours a day, NO STATIONS Running calls ALL day Management will shoo you out of the EMS room at hospitals to go run more calls, while you're writing reports, forcing you to write your reports after your shift technically ends Braindead dispatch that will have you driving circles around Tacoma all day in between calls
