Pros

Not a bad job for someone looking to work in EMS and if you don’t mind sitting in a call center for 12 hours a day. Schedule isn’t half bad either, one week you work 3/12 the next is 4/12.

Cons

No advancement opportunities. Benefits are terrible and expensive.

Fun coworkers, great entry-level experience for new EMTs who want to learn the field, report systems, etc.

Repetitive calls, unreliable equipment, difficult to find others to cover shifts

The strict adherence to arbitrary protocols for profit over patients (typical) Vehicles/equipment were in mediocre to bad conditions No tourniquets Dispatch was reluctant to send pd assistance whenever required
