Pros

Good for students who are looking for flexible hours as well as experience in the medical field. I hope this job is a stepping stone for all who read, as this company is extraordinarily inconsistent

Cons

- less starting hourly’s than the average fast food company - notoriously bad management, inconsistent work culture - unsafe vehicles (certain branches including mine have no minimum mileages on their ambulances) - limited growth opportunities - toxic masculinity ridden workplace culture

Pros

The best part of AMR is the experience you are going to be getting working at a major 911 ambulance company. Also most people who get hired at AMR are new to EMS which is another pro for anyone who is new your going to be more than likely be able to relate with some of your coworkers. Another pro about AMR is the ability to run 911 calls with the fire department every call will be with fire. If your looking for something like that then it's great experience to start getting cool with some of the fire guess be smart know thr feild and impress them. This can go a very long way.

Cons

The cons for working at AMR, the start is pay isn't the best how ever the hours can help with making more but with the current state of the economy it can get really stressful. The environment when working in a high stress environment, can get some really interesting characters having a strong back bone and be ready to deal with other people who you will be working with do not have a filter. If your messing up your going to be very well informed about it. Don't take things to hard and if you do just don't put yourself in the situation. The other con is actually my second pro with working with new people they are going to be just as experienced as you or even more and I am speaking from experience it sucks so make sure you know your stuff. Also this happened to me more on BLS (basic life support)
