Pros

Good place to get experience. Even though the fire departments in our area is also ALS, you'll do the vast majority of the work. Its very busy so its good for the inexperienced to get there feet wet.

Cons

The pay is terrible, benefits are terrible, management ignores any issues you bring to their attention, and they go out of their way to avoid complying with labor laws. In CA, they got sued for not paying employees for missed lunch breaks and instead of compensating thier employees correctly, they spent 30 million dollars to pass prop 11, which gave them retroactive immunity from lawsuits.
