Pros

Good place to start a career in EMS or gain good and fun healthcare experience. Equipment and training are decent if you have a good trainer. Heavy emphasis on good documentation. Always have newer rigs on 911 side of Burlingame station.

Cons

Poor pay, arrogant head trainer (God complex), management can be deceptive during COVID, union negotiators suck and newer hires no differentials or daily overtime. If the head trainer dislikes you, good luck getting training shifts and completing training in <3 months. Be wary of the medical information you receive from the head trainer and always double check said information. Extremely expensive service to our patients and the county with some emphasis on cool toys rather than quality of care e.g. mobile stroke unit which haven't been proven through rigorous review that they offer a good cost-benefit to county residents. Often a lack of PPE during COVID times.
