Low Basic Salary

Pros

Nice culture. Work from home set up even pre pandemic

Cons

As an internal employee, it's harder to ask for a raise, even if you are promoted—no effort to align people's salaries at the same level. They tend to offer much bigger rates to an external candidate which does not make any sense. Now, AMS seems to be the training ground for recruiters in Manila because, after a year or two, people tend to move on to other organizations that are willing to pay for the skills that they have when it comes to recruitment. Sad reality.

Pros

Remote work. Not stressful. The occasional project can be interesting. Some great and well-meaning colleagues.

Cons

Below average pay. No job security. Weak onboarding and ongoing training and development. Not a high-caliber, innovative company or industry leader. Senior management does not understand the US market but thinks they do. The company doesn't distinguish AT ALL between strong and weak performers, with relationships ruling the day.
