Pros

- Predictable schedule, pretty much 9-5. - It is better than jail, I suppose.

Cons

- Take seriously all of the reviews here concerning the CEO. He is a malignant narcissist with zero leadership ability. His only way to communicate is to "beat people up," about which he frequently brags. - APCON as a whole has one priority: Put money in the CEO's pockets so he can keep his Ferraris and his jet fueled up so he can go back and forth between his mansions in Oregon and Texas. - The only reason anything gets done at APCON is because people who are loyal to the product do work when the CEO is not paying attention. If his gaze falls on you and your team, all production ceases. - There is a distinct dearth of middle management. Most teams have no leadership whatsoever, and just have to wait their turn to be publicly berated by the CEO. When I started, there were 8 directors. There is now only 1. - It is impossible to be a successful marketer at APCON because the company is 100% invested in not growing. Growth is seen as a threat and the only goal is stasis. - I've never worked anywhere with the rate of attrition that I witnessed at APCON. When I started there were 120 employees and my team in Wilsonville was 8 people. When I left recently, there were ~90 employees and my team in Wilsonville was 1. This happened in 23 months. - Remote work is strictly forbidden and was so even in the worst of COVID. - I would comment on the "culture" at APCON but there is none. Teams are kept purposefully siloed and encouraged not to communicate with one another. Your coworkers are literally strangers most of the time. - The facilities are drab, cold and poorly maintained, and overall pretty sad. It permeates the entire "culture." - For a company that produces a very high-tech product, the equipment and technology platforms available to employees are all old and out-of-date.
