Pros

APMEX, Inc. quickly became one of my favorite places to work, if you call enjoying what you do "work". I worked my way through various departments by excersizing my enthusiastic passion about my work. The best parts about it were the people, employee benefits, free lunches (although I enjoyed the walk downtown to lunch), and cross departmental collaborations. You get to work closely with various department leaders at times if you are part of the high performing team. If you enjoy just coming to work, getting things knocked out, and going home - there are positions throughout the company that do that as well.

Cons

No lunch on Fridays, but lunch downtown is nearby.

Pros

APMEX is one of the largest internet retailers on the planet. They are one of Amazon's, Wal-Mart's and EBay's biggest partners. That means they are on the cutting edge when it comes to leveraging business analytics, Search Engine Optimization, e-commerce web design, you name it. They give people the opportunity to step into positions with responsibility they wouldn't see for years at other places, let them play with some of the most progressive "toys" in doing their jobs, and teach you in 2 years what it would take you 10 years at other places to get exposed to. If you want to catapult your career into the fast lane, this is the place. During the busy time of year, the Operations group who work in shipping has had to work a little longer hours. With better staffing, that is mostly an issue of the past. It's pretty much a 40 - 45 hour week for everyone around here. Some people might criticize work/life balance around here, but in my opinion, those are just the people who want full-time pay with part-time hours.

Cons

They're looking for sharp, go-getters. If you're a government employee type who just wants to ride the clock into retirement, this isn't the place for you. You will be expected to make an impact and to contribute. You'll be given the latitude to do just that, but with great power comes great responsibility.
