Good pay, free lunch, decent benefits and nice people.

Cons

No advancement opportunities or loyalty. It's a job, not a career.

We are proud to say 20 people were promoted into new positions in the third quarter of 2015, and 8 were promoted in the fourth quarter. APMEX remains an employer where you have the opportunity to advance your career in numerous departments.

The leadership lacked direction but I enjoyed the people there. The industry is unique and the company struggled.

Pros

Decent pay and the benefits were fair, average but fair. Working there gave me a better understanding of investing and I also gained a new love for coin collecting.

Cons

The industry is difficult to survive in as your sales are truly dependent on the market. There was ZERO growth potential and there is a culture of fear due to the many layoffs over the years. Some of the leaders are out of touch with reality.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We're happy that you learned and gained a new hobby during your time here. While we do work hard to balance our number of employees with the realities of the marketplace, there did come a time when we made the difficult decision to reduce staffing levels to keep pace with the market. However, we've grown as a company year over year and continue to look for ways to make APMEX an employer of choice for the Oklahoma City market.

Dysfunctional Leadership

Pros

Most folks at the junior levels are good people who take pride in their work, work hard, and treat their peers with professionalism and respect.

Cons

During my tenure there were other new team members who were passionate, smart, accomplished and dedicated employees -- ranging from the manager level all the way to the C-suite. Unfortunately, almost all of those people are gone. What is left is a dysfunctional and ill-equiped leadership team that lacks vision and focus, and that distrusts and disempowers its employees.

We appreciate your review and are sorry you didn't have a good work experience here. Beginning in 2013 and continuing today, we have had formal, professional training and coaching programs in place to support professional growth for each and every employee of APMEX.
