Pros
I had the pleasure of working with ASC Process Systems for 13 year, and I can confidently say that this company is a true gem in the industry. I say this because the company offers some unique benefits that are hard to come by, but you must know what you are looking for. The company's positive culture and commitment to employee well-being is exceptional. I left the company a while ago, but I had the pleasure to spend some time with the owners recently, and could see their candid commitment to it. One of the things that impressed me and is what I miss most is their focus on continuous improvement. They are constantly looking for ways to improve their products, processes and procedures, which ultimately benefits both their clients and their employees. This not only keeps the work interesting and challenging, but it also provides ample opportunities for professional growth and development. The president of the company is the founder and master mind behind most, if not all of it. He built the company from the ground up and keeps growing it. It is very refreshing to see and work with that level of dedication and passion. I was also impressed by was their commitment to mentoring and growing talent. They have an incredible team of experienced professionals who are always willing to share their knowledge and expertise with others. This makes ASC Process Systems a great place to learn and evolve as a professional. If you are willing to learn and do not shy away from a challenge, the sky is the limit here. The company is not small without any processes or systems and its not to big where processes and systems have turned it in to a slow-moving bureaucracy. You can go from an idea to product in no time if you are able to present it. And if you don’t, you will learn if you are willing to. At the same time, you will have exposure to multiple industries and different technologies. There are few companies you can work for where you get to work on awesome projects with companies such as NASA, Space X, Boeing, Lockheed, etc. This gives employees a unique opportunity to broaden their knowledge and skillset, which is invaluable in today's rapidly changing world.
Cons
Despite the high-stress nature of the aerospace industry, ASC does an excellent job of creating a positive work environment that is conducive to success. That being said, there were a few negative aspects to my experience with ASC, primarily related to poor planning leading to misplaced expectations. At the time when I left the company, there was also some non-constructive competition between managers that had created a toxic environment. The bad part about working for someone that is so passionate is that you are soon going to find out that they are passionate. So, unless you have the same level of passion for what you do,you will have a hard time accepting the expectations. With that said, if you just want to cruise by and expect participation medals, this is not the place for you. But if you are willing to put in the work and want the exposure, you can get far here and the experienced gained is invaluable. If I would have written this review when I left, I would have given it a fair 3 stars due to this. But today as I feel I have grown to appreciate the good aspects and not focus on the bad, I can give it 4.5 stars. And since they don’t give you that option, I was contemplating between 4 or 5 and decided rounding up 4.5 to 5 based on arithmetic, is logical. LOL
