Mid-level management needs review. A lot of burnouts and double standards from my direct manager. HR needs to keep a closer watch on those who are genuine in their stress and those that simply take advantage.

Japanese culture negatively affects work/life balance and diversity in the workplace (e.g. lack of women in leadership roles.) Men, even more-so if Japanese, are often over-promoted. HR does not communicate effectively, and consistent turn-over encourages inconsistency and inaccurate information. Reviews are done halfway into the year and professional development/career pathing is left solely to the manager and employee - nothing formal. The company is in a huge transition and morale is declining at a rapid pace.
