Great Independence; Lacks diversity and Career Track

Pros

Most of the positions available are in sales and as such, although there are goals to meet, you have a lot of independence and freedom to customize your work schedule. You have great travel perks and benefits. Company also has a great heritage and history.

Cons

If you work remotely (e.g. Sales), it can be very hard to develop leverage with other departments in person (mainly phone-based). If you're starting from an entry-level position, it is also very hard to move up as there is no career track or training. It is as if you're applying as an outside applicant. There is also a lack of diversity overall (e.g. male-dominated, not a lot of cultural backgrounds). There's also a lack of communication between departments. Some things seem last minute or an afterthought. You may apply to positions multiply times to hoping to be promoted and will get denied several times for a non-sensical reason. Promotion seems to be based on favoritism, rather than performance outcomes. So the more you make in person contacts, perhaps the better your chances. The industry is hard to get into anyways, but also not that easy to move up here once you're onboard...
