Pros

Great team, awesome building, good location, great products, benefits are good, gym on site, and flexible hours.

Cons

Teams within departments work against each other... its competitive to say who failed rather then helping each other succeed. There are company initiatives that do not make sense and seem to be driven by forces that are not well thought through but rather driven by personal factors. The gym is great, but we only can utilize it for about 4 hours a day and we will shortly be charged to use it. It becomes defeating to constantly fight to work on a project as a team with other departments. It is more defeating to have your upper management be unaware of the daily struggles. Communication seems to be lacking between one department to the next. Product may work on this great new top and then it has no partner shoe to tell a store and then marketing has no information on the new top to make consumers aware of it. Lots of run to catch up fire drills.

Pros

The industry is interesting, but there are other brands with better values to work for.

Cons

One of the worst environments I have ever worked in (Boston office). Zero opportunities for development or growth. Sexual harassment is rampant and if you bring it to HR, it is ignored and you can expect social and professional retribution for reporting. Do not expect to be promoted at ASICS unless you are a white man, and especially if you have raised any issues to HR. Leaders from Japan are incredibly sexist and white male leaders in the Americas office follow suit. Almost every single woman that I started working with there has left, for good reason. Not one Black employee in the office.

Pros

The physical shoes are great and world class

Cons

I don’t even know how to summarize them here. In a nutshell - the leadership in Europe Hoofdorp office (IT and Business), Japan and Irvine, CA and Boston MA are straight from mad men era. A bunch of guys whose fragile egos determine the strategic planning, and prioritization (I.e., not whatsoever based on data). The culture is all about finger pointing and how to win every interaction. The gaslighting of women and minorities (typically the people that actually get anything done) is astounding. The burden is on them to even try to prove there is a problem in the first place.
