Pros

You work solo Insurance Discounts(cell discount is easy to beat by other companies with no discount) "Union"

Cons

*New hires are now rushed through training and are left unprepaired for the actual work in the field. When you getvto the field your manager will hate you because you are hurting their numbers and with ride you until you quit* Every position you're working towards is being removed and their work is being placed on you. You're given less time, with higher expectations. Your raises are eaten up by the rising cost of the insurance. No cost of living adjustments. Bonuses requirements have gotten so high no one even check to see it they got it anymore. You have no idea if you get off at 2pm or 11pm and there is no way to predict when you'll be off. This leaves you not planning anything with family and friends. You will work three out four weekends a month. If you have kids, this means you'll miss 75% of what they do. This is the reality of this job. I'm not even trying ro make it sound bad. These are just the facts. I've been here 8 years and everyone I know with 6 months + is trying to leave. Remember, there is a real reason they have that sign on bonus and it's because that's the only thing that will keep you here.

Pros

They do pay you money.

Cons

The metrics are nonsense and change on a dime, same with your call flow. One minute your the best getting a certificate of greatness and an AT&T branded water bottle, the next your getting written up for some nonsense that happened on 1 call out of 600 for the month. Its like clockwork every time your getting a little too comfortable they attempt to rattle you by either writing you up, changing the entire call flow, or straight up just changing your entire department from customer service to sales to loyalty. At my center AT&T has ran off most of its good employees and the only reason I stay is because I have thick skin and live nearby so have next to no commute. Pointless trainings and company spends time and $$$ on teaching us how to "peel an onion" with a customer that had a unauthorized cell phone line added to their account by a store rep that is being forced to meet quota. The actual work for this job is navigating the nonsense and not getting bucked off the bronco by the constant changing policys and shifts.

Pros

discounted cell service, decent (but definitely not great) benefits

Cons

AT&T Suffers from poor upper management, which leads to rapid turnover in senior leadership positions, and all too often, sudden shifts in direction. Unfortunately, being such a large corporation, the business cannot pivot as quickly as the winds change, and this causes all kinds of issues, redundant work, and projects being killed after being nearly complete. There is a major disconnect between reality and the way AT&T's leadership sees operations at the company. AT&T also regularly lays off large batches of employees (and not just underperforming ones), forcing even high-performing teams to cut headcount in order to appease shareholder demand. They will let high performing employees go, even if they are hiring for the exact same position in another group within the corporation, and even though it's well known that there is a severe lack of institutional knowledge as a large percentage of the management workforce retired or left the business in the past 5 years. The callous nature of the constant layoffs has had a chilling effect on the morale of remaining employees, as we simply do not believe anything the company says about caring for us or our wellbeing.
