Pros

Good salary and benefits. The work is interesting and they are headed into an exciting transformation with the potential acquisition of Time Warner.

Cons

I don't even know where to begin. The level of bureaucracy is astounding and can only be outdone by our gov't. Get ready to spend most of your team managing financial what if scenarios, fighting for $, and filling out process paperwork. I was here over 10 years, and the process actually got worse not better. They don't let leaders lead and be successful rather than live to serve the process and budget. Organizations are built on Egos of executives and not what is the best way to serve the customer. In fact I recall a number of executives making decisions based solely on "how they act as a customer" and ignoring the data which contradicted their opinion. If all our customers were white, 50+, and millionaires then we nailed the target audience.

Pros

Solo work in assigned van, using tools and overtime pay. If you're young and single, or prior military, this job might work for a while.

Cons

Zero family/social life, with a constant feeling of job loss by management -- This job is the tank where all experimental dung flushes to. No matter what happens, the wire techs take the blame and crawl through all of it everyday.
