Pros

Used to be a pleasure to work before the att merge. Great support and trainers, friendly family oriented environment, great incentives, fun. My review may change depending on how things change in the upcoming month(s).

Cons

Seems like everyone's being fired since att got involved. Lots of employees losing trust in the merge and in the company. There's always been a high turnover rate but this is crazy. Customers have absolutely nothing good to say about att ever.

Pros

The only good thing about the TDP program is that I got to make great friends. You're capped at working 40 hours a week so that helps with work/life balance. The 50% discount on AT&T services is great. Great place to work if you want to have a steady salary and don't care about learning much.

Cons

There is nothing "Emerging" about the program. This is probably the worst place for a CS major to learn something. You work on outdated technologies with remote teams. All the collaboration is virtual with team members across the globe. The hiring standards are way too low. The good programmers that you work with are generally contractors from Accenture or some other consulting firm. The way benefits work is laughable. A person making PowerPoint presentations and a person developing good code make the same mediocre salary. The management stresses that benefits are on par with other top tech companies which is not true at all. A new computer science grad could easily be making 20-30% more in the same city. They stress a lot on the use of Agile methodologies although you will most likely never get a chance to work with it. Employees are led to believe that they are the best of the best which is leaving a false sense of pride among them. Nothing is based on merit. Management is very biased towards ass-licking employees. And yeah, the worst of all, appearance has precedence over intellect and merit which is infuriating.

Pros

Working in cellular can be extremely rewarding, personally, professionally, and especially monetarily. If you're good with people and electronics, this job is heaven! You get to help people make tough decisions in an ever changing market, find solutions for their needs (some they didn't know they had), and make their lives better with every sale! At least, that's a good day.

Cons

It's a sales job. At the end of the day, you need to remember your metrics are everything to the management. It can be a little soul crushing being a number, but it's the way these jobs are. Unfortunately, in my time, I saw more and more individual metrics appear without much support from management in maintaining all of them at once. The company wants one thing boosted, everything else suffers, and it becomes a balancing act on a canoe. (Careful not to capsize!) As a result, it can be very stressful at times, especially since not every customer is happy to see you. The key is turning those disgruntled frowners into happy customers, and nailing sales in the process. It's a delicate balance and it can be frustrating until you get the right groove going. Even then, you're bound to hit some bumps along the way.
