Pros

Robust pipeline of new research products in development, which is encouraging for the future growth potential of the company and job security Team-oriented approach to R&D projects fostered by close communication between scientists and technical staff Good potential for advancement through merit-based promotions Flexible work schedule

Cons

As other reviews have mentioned, the salaries are on the low end of the range for this area; however, the benefits packages are very generous and provide decent family health and dental coverage.

* Mostly awesome colleagues and a relaxed work environment. * Diverse and interesting projects. * Opportunities to gain skills and knowledges in many areas of biotech. * Convenient location in Gaithersburg, MD with easy access from I-270 (live south and reverse commute if you can) * The company is a mission-based non-profit organization dedicated to supporting life science research * Comprehensive benefits package (paid vacation, sick leave, retirement plans, company matching, health, vision, dental, etc) * Flexible work schedules.

Cons

* Salaries on the lower end of the competitive range for MoCo; somewhat understandable considering the company is a non-profit org and not big pharma or similar. * Company is the midst of expansion and this has likely contributed to turnover at the senior management level * Some areas are understaffed

Pros

Benefits are good, 403(b) performs well, and there is some flexibility on hours. I have made some strong professional relationships at ATCC.

Cons

Training is limited, upward mobility doesn't exist, and direction of the company is unclear. Lots of lingering promises leave staff skeptical and uncertain of the future. Pay is not competitive.
