"Worst place to work for" falls short describing ATSER

Pros

Not a single one to mention.

Cons

As a safe and reliable workplace, it offers very subpar working conditions. There is no heat in the office, people are told to bring their blankets and space heaters during the few cold days we have here in Houston. And doing the hot days - which is mostly the rest of the year, the HVAC stops working and needs constant repairs because the owner does not want to spend any money in replacing the 20+ year old equipment. And during power-out days, employees are expected to come to work and bring their own candles and sit at their desks waiting for the power to come back, even if it will take all day. During the last blackout, some managers were told to bring a generator to power their team's equipment and work area lights to show "commitment to the company". As an employee, be prepared for the constant shift in priorities, goals, and objectives. There is not an official HR department, let alone an HR professional because the owner will run out every single one that tries to develop an "employees are an asset and must be protected" culture. The Employee Review and Compensation Review processes are non-existent. There are people here that have been for 5+ years without a review and/or a salary increase. Taking vacation/PTO is frowned upon and often you are publicly criticized by the owner for taking vacation or doctor visits. Also, your vacation/PTO is not available to use right away. New hires need to be 6 months in before they can ask for time-off and also to be paid for the few federal holidays the company observes, and God forbid you dare taking the day off before or after a holiday. You will be branded a lazy, irresponsible person with no morals and ethics. Also, be prepared to attend "pontificating" meetings that do not solve anything other than giving the owner the satisfaction of listening to his own voice spouting the biggest misogynistic remarks any human being can say in one shot. Every time he speaks about a woman, his first comment is always about her shape, presence, dress, hair, etc. then whatever her skills and qualifications or job performance is. Lastly (even though there is more to say), whatever the owner puts on your offer letter, he will never honor, citing some "policy" that no one seems to know about, except him. if there was a negative scale for the ratings, all would be minus 5 stars.

DO NOT WORK HERE

Business Outlook

Pros

Knowing that the other employees are in the same miserable boat

Cons

You don't want to work here. The ceo is a lying narcissist. He will lie to you during the hiring process and give you a worthless offer letter. He talks badly about employees behind their backs to other employees hoping to turn everyone against each other. The software does not work, and when clients see that, they leave. If you are working a deal that looks promising, the ceo will take it over and cut you out. He will then destroy the deal by acting unprofessionally and embarrassingly. And then blame the sales person who he cut out and had nothing more to do with the deal. When you resurrect the deal and move it to close, the ceo will take all of the credit, and refuse to pay you any commission. The new client leaves during the onboarding process due to the incompetence of the onboarding and service group. Employee turnover throughout the company is absurd. STAY AWAY. I wish I had believed the negative reviews. They are all true.
