I've worked in a higher education setting and there was no assigned desk, no external monitors, or a computer upon arriving for my first day. Accounts were not granted prior to being onboarded for system access. Was told access for accounts takes a month. Beverages, such as coffee or tea, are not freely provided for staff. Training is not provided by Team Leader who does not sit with team so skillsets are not recognized. Vague hierarchy. Standing all day. Several protocols are not followed. After a few days, there was no point in staying & decided to quit.

You get to be your own boss since you will be the only Technician onsite. L1, L2, L3, you are all of them.

Cons

I didn't get sick days and couldn't afford to stay home when sick with COVID -I was in charge of a new building that EY built and then refused to pay the original AV install team I was a part of, so AVI-SPL won the bid to replace them so i got drafted to them. Still one of the funniest self-owns ive ever seen. I was trying to report that the Air conditioning in the server room was faulty causing the racks for the state-of-the-art event space to melt when the shift happened and it was a hot potato nobody wanted to touch. Hilarity ensued.
