Pros
Inexpensive health benefits after 60 days Never short on hours Generally great staff to work with Sunday's off Always work to be done so never standing around bored Able to be out in the field and out of the store for part of most days Quickly promoted if you do well and know the right people A week of paid vacation after 6 months Very high store GM salary Taught how to run store (including P & L's) as if it's your own business at GM level Stable company that pays weekly
Cons
Long, long retail hours - be prepared to come in before 8 am and leave after 930 pm for 45-50 hours a week Micromanaged in all departments Made to feel guilty by management if you need to use the bathroom, need a sick day or any other approved time off since they are always short staffed Many stores run with minimum amount of help making job stressful Lunches can be an afterthought sometimes occurring after 4 pm Low starting pay Regional management rules by fear. As a GM you are threatened with your job daily via email. Many times required to use personal vehicle to make collection visits
