Pros

The benefits are competitive, and the pay is fair for this industry. The people are good to work with and business is good, even in tough economic times. You can also move up the management chain quickly if you have a college degree. If you can manage a store you will make very good money and you can keep moving up from there. The managers are knowledgable because everyone has to go through their manager trainee program. They come up with good marketing strategies in order to boost sales and the job itself is easy to do if you put the time into it.

Cons

Sales Managers are pressured to SELL SELL SELL while Accounts Managers are pressured to COLLECT COLLECT COLLECT, and these opposite pressures conflict with each other. The Sales Managers will often approve people to rent who will not make their monthly payment, in order to get their bonus, and this screws over the Accounts Manager who can't possibly collect money from these people. They also need to become more advanced in their technology as sometimes customers who pay on time wind up on call lists and the customers are not happy receiving calls when they have already made their monthly payment.

Pros

If you are out of a job, and desperately need something to do, this is the place to be. I got this job because i needed something desperately. I was under the impression that this is a good company to work for, but was bitterly disappointed once i got in.

Cons

If you don't have any intetions of climbing the corporate ladder or advancing., this would be a great opportunity for you. You work very hard for a bunch of unqualified people. The whole corporate culture sucks. They employ very negative minded people, and they gloat in these kinds of atmospheres. Your hard work is not gonna get you the recognition that you deserve.

Pros

There are good opportunities to learn new processes and business concepts but you have to be willing to teach yourself (little if any sponsored training/education). There are some great people at Aaron Rents (store support centers in metro Atlanta). I liked my boss as a person and he drove me to do more and learn as much as possible to succeed.

Cons

Low pay, little advancement opportunity. Management sees most home office employees as a liability and as necessary overhead. If you're not generating revenue for Aaron Rents you might as well be siphoning gas from the CEOs car. The good old boy network is alive and thriving at Aaron Rents.
